Black Walnut Conference Table

This is a custom built black walnut conference table with an epoxy engraved logo. Firstly, this project was a collaboration with he client who had a specific and unique vision for the piece.

The company who commissioned it had a very different idea for the base. Since they are a plumbing company, they wanted to use large diameter pipe to fabricate the base. So we designed a table to fit their needs.

This conference table is built using locally sourced black walnut "sister" slabs, that are cut from the tree in sequence. This is how we get the slabs to have a mirrored look.

We join the slabs together using integral fasteners for added strength and then custom CNC the logo into the center of the table. We fill the logo with multiple layers of epoxy to match the color and also give it contrast. Lastly we embed metal supports under the table to help with stability and strength over time.
